Objective Short-term (6 month) study of the evolution over time and space of coastal marine sediments contaminated with oil of known composition and concentration. Influence of bioturbation induced by benthic megafauna on the fate of these hydrocarbons. The studies were performed concurrently on two sites in the Gulf of Fos: CARHYCAR (5m) and HYCARFOS (21m). The missions began in 1998 and continued in 2000, once weekly, for all the work done at sea. This is part of the GDR HYCAR project. Due to bad weather, 15 days were spent at sea rather than the 40 planned.
