Summary of measurements |
- -Meso-scale characterization of the hydrodynamic structure of a meander in
circumpolar circulation using XBT (0-800 m), CTD (surface to bottom), TOWYO (0- 1200 m), GPS and ADCP profiles. -Deployment of 2 CARIOCA buoys. -Deployments and recoveries of an instrumented buoy fitted with a particle trap set at a depth of 200 m. -Numerous CTD profiles were made at different depths with various samples taken (rosette with 24 Niskin 12 l bottles). -A nutrient profiler was deployed (0-400 m). -In situ pump casts, some down to the bottom (4 500 m). -A towed optical plankton counter (OPCT)was deployed using a specially adapted winch loaned by SHOM. -Samples were taken with special large volume bottles (200 and 100 l) or those adapted to green chemistry (iron enrichment experiments). Net hauls. Various incubations.
