Objective This mission characterized the abiotic environment in the lagoon surrounding the town of Suva at the beginning of the rainy season. Determining the velocity and direction of currents to feed and validate the 3D circulation model. Characterizing spatial changes in physical-chemical characteristics in the lagoon's water over 2 24-hour cycles. -Using the acoustic classification to characterize different types of seabed and benthic habitats. -Sediment samples were taken on the outer slope to assess exportation of terrigenous material. The participants (name, institute, nationality and subject) were: - FICHEZ Renaud, IRD, French, biogeochemistry - CHEVILLON Christophe, IRD, French, sedimentology - CHIFFLET Sandrine, IRD, French, marine chemistry - DOUILLET P., IRD, French, physics - FERNANDEZ Jean-Michel, IRD, French, geochemistry - PANCHE J.Y., IRD, French, electronics. On board for day outings: - FERLAND Marie, USP, Canadian, sedimentology - KUMAR Nilesh, USP, Fijian, physics and modelling.
