Objectif Étude de la variabilité de la dynamique équatoriale de surface et de subsurface. Étude des échanges de chaleur entre l'océan et l'atmosphère dans la zone équatoriale. Étude des concentrations de carbone, nécessaire pour la compréhension du rôle de l'océan dans l'effet de serre. Étude de la production primaire (chlorophylle, biomasse), intervenant dans le cycle du carbone. Étude de la variabilité de la circulation profonde de grande échelle. Le projet de rattachement est CLIVAR-ECLAT.
