Objective	Estimating the biomass, density, species composition and population diversity of fish by trawling on the continental slope in 2 sectors and in 2 bathymetric zones. Estimation of variations in density using hydroacoustic methods. Observation of plankton stages of deep water fish. Contribution to studies validating the age estimations of deep sea fish. This falls under the project studying the Impact of fisheries on deep water fish populations. The participating organizations were: IFREMER, MNHN, the Marine biology laboratory of the Collège de France and the MNHN, CNRS, UBO, Marine Laboratory (SOAFD, Aberdeen), Dunstaffnage Marine Laboratory (Centre for Coastal and Marine Science, Oban, Scotland).
