Objective Assessing recruitment (juveniles) level of commercially fished species in the North Sea(cod, whiting, haddock, Norwegian pout, herring, sprat, mackerel) working in collaboration with countries on the North Sea. Studying intra-annual variations of the main stocks. Preliminary sampling of juvenile fish in the southern part of the North Sea. Herring larvae sampled (calculating the larval index). Echointegration during hauls for more accurate estimation of the abundance by bottom trawling (experimental study). Studying macrowaste and biological effects of contaminants in the North Sea. The related project is the "International Bottom Trawl Survey" coordinated by ICES (International Council for Exploration of the Sea).
