Objective -Assessment of recruitment level (juveniles) of commercial fish species exploited in the North Sea (cod, whiting, haddock, Norway pout, herring, sprat and mackerel) in collaboration with countries on North Sea shores; -Study of inter-annual variations in the main stocks; -Preliminary sampling of fish juveniles in the southern North Sea; -Sampling of herring larvae (calculation of larval index); -Echo-integration during trawling for more accurate estimation of abundance by bottom trawling (experimental study); -Study of macrowaste and biological effects of contaminants in the North Sea. The related project is the "International Bottom Trawl Survey" coordinated by ICES (International Council for Exploration of the Sea).
