Objectif

Campagne de carottages longs dans la zone d'échange entre océans Indien et Pacifique sur le thème Paléoclimatologie quaternaire aux hautes latitudes Sud et à l'Équateur : Influence sur la variabilité climatique globale. Le projet de rattachement est le programme international IMAGES associé à PAGES/IGBP. Cette campagne s'est effectuée en deux legs. La zone couverte par le navire est plus précisément : Océan Indien Sud/Est, Pacifique Sud/Ouest, Golfe de Carpentaria, Mer des Philippines, Mer de Chine. Les ports d'escale sont : La Réunion/ Singapour via Nouvelle Amsterdam, Hobart, Christchurch, Cairns, Kaoshiung.
