Objective Appraising the effects of biological variability in the surface layers on deep particulate fluxes on short scales of time (a few days) and space: using a 3D system (9 station array) on a box of 10 x 20 nautical miles on the continental slope in the Gulf of Lion, off Marseilles. The related projects are PNOC and MATER (WP2, High Frequency Flux Experiment). The survey covers 6 missions: 15-18 March from La Seyne to Marseille aboard RV L'Europe, 22-26 March from Marseille to Marseille aboard RV L'Europe, 3-8 April from Port-Vendres to Marseille aboard RV L'Europe, 13-17 April from Marseille to La Seyne aboard RV L'Europe, 21-24 April from La Seyne to La Seyne aboard RV TETHYS II, 1st-3 May from Marseille to Marseille aboard RV GEORGES PETIT.
