Objectif L'objectif principal de la campagne MARVEL était de réaliser des plongées du Nautile sur 4 sites hydrothermaux localisés au Sud des Açores sur la dorsale atlantique. Ces quatre cibles se situent à des profondeurs variables le long de la dorsale : Site Rainbow (2400 m) ; Zone Famous (2600m) ; Zone Lucky Strike (1700m) ; Zone Menez Gwen (800m). Deux thèmes de recherche abordés : 1) L'influence de la profondeur et des acteurs associés sur la biologie des peuplements et des organismes. 2) La dynamique spatio-temporelle des peuplements d'une ride lente (dynamique des peuplements, mécanismes de dispersion et de colonisation).
