| Objective | Studying the architecture of large and very large dunes (megaripples) which cover the seabeds of the North Sea and the English Channel at two study sites: zone F defined by SHOM and the Ridens de Calais megaripples site. Indications from SHOM and MétéoFrance archives show that there could be relationship between the velocity and direction of these large sedimentary bodies and the weather conditions following a multi-annual pace. Thus the objective is to try to recognise the marks of these paces in the sedimentary record as shown by the discontinuities or erosion surfaces using a very high resolution seismic tool, i.e. a 3.5 kHz sub-bottom profiler. |
