| Objective | Studying the distribution of Cephalopods-Loginids in the Bay of Seine. Preliminary result: Contrary to previous years, very few Loginid squid were caught (94 Allotenthis subulata and 23 Loligo vulgaris in all). The absence of Loligo forbesi should be compared to the very low level of catches by commercial trawlers in the English Channel (1996 cohort was less abundant than were previous ones - this will have to be confirmed by fisheries statistics which are currently unavailable). |
