| Objective | Studying the continental shelf from Fresco to Tabou: -Morphology (bathymetry) and sedimentology characteristics, of fisheries resources The objective of the programme, working with the Earth science department of the University of Cocody (Abidjan), with logistic and financial support from ONUDI, ORSTOM and the French Cooperation and cultural action mission, was both the correct the bathymetry of this continental shelf and to verify the position of rocky banks found there. This was done on behalf of users who encounter some difficulties (oil companies installing pipelines, fishermen with torn or snagged nets) with the map of the continental shelf of Côte d'Ivoire made since 1973 by Louis Martin. |
