Objective Additional sampling was performed following the ECOCOT I cruise (August 1994). The main objectives were: -Appraise sedimentary fluxes. -Assessment of benthic biomass. -Deployment of the USNEL corer from INSU and the KULLENBERG corer (equipment from CIRMED based in Perpignan). -Performing a seasonal comparison of current pollen matter by taking water samples off the two large Rhone river outflows (Grand-Rhône and Petit-Rhône). This fall under the National coastal oceanography programme (PNOC).
