| Objective | The mesh opening at the back of the cod end is a determining parameter for selectivity. Numerical modelling of trawls (shape computation) can be used to quantify this datum providing that the flow in the codend is known (since it cannot be considered as uniform there). Therefore, in this cruises, we tried to measure the mean velocity profiles of the flow along the axis of the codend, in association with various parameters of tension, speed, geometry, vessels, all logged simultaneously. The related projects are the Fisheries Programme (Brittany regional council - State-region plan contract), IFREMER Programme IFREMER (numerical trawl study) and IFREMER Programme (trawl selectivity study). |
