Objective Study of deep sea populations at depths between 1,000 and 2,000 metres. Trials and perfecting of acoustic and fisheries equipment of the new THALASSA research vessel. Samples were taken using a bottom trawl (Arrow), a mid-water trawl, a beam trawl and fish traps. Study of population structure and growth in some species. Measurements, otoliths, determination and photos taken of deep water species. Observations of seabed and benthos using Scampi.
