Summary of measurements |
- -Hydrology: temperature, salinity, fluorescence and oxygen profiles (CTD: oxygen sensor did not work).
-Analyses of nutrients: nitrite, nitrate, ammonium, phosphate. -Analyses of organic dissolved and particulate nitrogen and phosphorus. -Analyses of chlorophyll and carotenoid pigments. -Optical properties of surface waters: incident irradiance and penetration profiles for different wave lengths. -Optical and photosynthetic properties of phytoplankton. -Counting of photosynthetic picoplankton and heterotrophic bacteria using flow cytometry. -Measuring primary production using 14C method. -Nitrogen assimilation and regeneration nitrogen-15 method. -Estimating vertical fluxes of matter using drifting PPS4-type particle traps. -Coring of sediment on seafloors less than 1,000 metres deep.
