Objective CITHER 2 (CIrculation THERmocline) is taking part in the WOCE (World Ocean Circulation Experiment) programme, describing ocean circulation on the global scale: hydrographic section A. This cruise aimed to describe the bodies of water from 50S to 10N along the South American continent and determine the conditions at the western boundary of the South Atlantic Ocean (Falkland Islands-Salvador de Bahia-Cayenne).
