Objective | The main objective of the ARCADINO 2009 cruises were to study the links between the hydrodynamics of the continental shelf in the Bay of Biscay and the presence of toxic phytoplankton species (Dinophysis) offshore from and inside the Bay of Arcachon. They were a follow-up to the 2007 and 2008 cruises. The sampling plan (number of samples and distribution of stations over time and space) was designed to locate the presence of Dinophysis on the nearby continental shelf and study the origin of its build-up. The cruise was related to the ASCOBAR (scientific contributions to shellfish farming issues in the Bay of Arcachon). |
