Objective The main objectives of the SEMAPHORE cruise were to: Document the physical processes controlling ocean/atmosphere exchanges, including wave fields; Study the chemical and thermodynamic properties of the Azores current, as well as associated secondary circulation; Study the issue of spatial integration of fluxes and their parametrization in order to use satellite data, either directly or by assimilating them in models. The cruise had 2 legs: Leg 1 from 06/10/1993 to 28/10/1993 and Leg 2 from 29/10/1993 to 18/11/1993.
