Objective In the framework of the National coastal oceanography programme (PNOC), the Bay of Seine was chosen to study a zone enriched in nitrogen and phosphorus by a large river. Therefore, the studies conducted on this site by the DEL/CMCN laboratory fall under the PNOC's "Eutrophication" theme. The 1992 cruises (4 in all - SEDISEINE and PHYTOSEINE) focused on the distribution of nitrogen, phosphorous and phytoplankton in the water and sediment. The two PHYTOSEINE cruises are mostly devoted to studying phytoplankton.
