Objective The SEDIMANCHE program is an integrated study of the sedimentary systems of the Channel from the present estuaries of the Somme and Seine rivers to the Celtic margin to the west of Britany. The Sedimanche 1 survey was focused on the evolution of the system from the shelf to the slope. The survey included multibeam bathymetry and Very High Resolution seismic survey. 2 kinds of morphology have been observed : a prograding system with convex morphology cut by canyons. 5 sedimentary sequences from Upper Cretaceous to present have been identified.
