Objective The DIAPISUB mission (dive using Nautile) aim was to study the signs of fluid circulation linked to argilokinetic processes in an active margin sector, i.e. the southern tip of the tectonic Barbados accretionary prism. The 17 dives by Nautile, performed at depths between 1,000 and 3,000 m, enabled a large set of observations, measurements and samples to be collected. The data will enable us to: 1) define the tectonic contexts which promoted the rising of diapiric sediments and fluids; 2) characterize the sediments associated with the fluids ejected; 3) identify these fluids (geochemical signature, origin, fluxes); 4) detect heat anomalies and the associated tectonic sites (flux modelling); 5) study the ecology of benthic populations and their structural and biochemical adaptations; 6) quantify the processes of sediment and fluid expulsion and appraise the spatial-temporal distribution of conduits.
