Objectif L'opération EUMELI vise à étudier, de façon intégrée, le flux de particules à chacune des étapes de leur voyage, depuis leur formation jusqu'à leur éventuel enfouissement dans le sédiment de l'Atlantique Est-Tropical. Des études de processus associent les techniques satellitales et les mesures en mer pour : 1) relier les teneurs en pigments chlorophylliens aux flux de carbone particulaire; 2) associer, au cycle du matériel organique particulaire, le cycle d'autres éléments, de la surface au sédiment. Trois sites (Eutrophe, Mésotrophe, Oligotrophe) constituent le cadre de l'exercice.
