Objective | Mapping (multibeam bathymetry and 3.5 kHz sediment sounder) of the fjord in Table bay (S49, E069) in the Kerguelen archipelago (TAAF, Indian Ocean) in order to optimize the location of 3 coring stations (each comprising 1 box core, 1 gravity core and 1 Calypso core). This will enable the Lateglacial-Holocene fluctuations of the Ampère glacier, which has shown significant retreat over several decades, to be reconstructed. Establishing the lithology of core samples based on visual descriptions and analyses on the Geotek test bench performed on board. Establishing the correlation of coring stations based on summarizing sediment sounder data and the litho-stratigraphic logs. |
