Objective The GOUFHEAD mission's objective was to perform bathymetric mapping associated with a sediment-sounder mosaic in the part closest to the Capbreton canyon head (multibeam mapping lacking to date). The aim is to characterize the sedimentary forms present in this area and draw conclusions about the impact of sediment entrapment and instabilities at the canyon head and their possible role in feeding the gravity flow in the canyon. The cruise is part of the Earth reliefs (INSU- CNRS) project.
