Objective | This is part of the general international PIRATA programme. It was the 19th French cruise of the same type (whence its name of FR19) and called PI2-09-AT under the PMEL/NOAA designation. The previous cruise PIRATA-FR18 performed in September 2008, along with a TACE cruise, made it possible to replace 4 Pirata buoys located in the Gulf of Guinea. The FR19 cruise provided maintenance for 5 ATLAS sites: On the first leg, on buoys located at 0°-23°W, 0°-10°W and recovery of an additional buoy at 0°-0° which had been vandalised during the previous cruise FR18, and which could not be retrieved due to lack of time. On the second leg, on the buoy at 0°-0° then on the 2 buoys of the 10°W rail at 10°S, 6°S. |
