Objective During the YOKODUKA 91 cruise, the main targets were surveyed using the deep japanese submersible Shinkai 6500 and multi-narrow beam : 1) The hydrothermal activity along the N15 and NS spreading axis of the North Fijin Basin; first at station 4, on the sites named "White Lady" and "Kaiyo", which are located close to the 16deg50'S - 173deg50'E triple junction; secondly, at station 14, on the site named "Mussel Valley", which lies on the NS acive spreading axis, near 18deg49'S - 173deg30'E. Thirdly, diving investigations was carried out in a new part of the spreading axis, at 18deg06'S, near the large overlaping spreading center and propagating rift of 18deg10'S. 2) The second item of the cruise was to conduct additional bathymetric survey on each side of the spreading axis ridge of the basin.
