Objective	Study by the CYANA submersible of geological phenomena linked to the opening of trenches in the Vanuatu back-arc (northern trenches called the Jean-Charcot troughs). Confirmation of recent to sub-actual volcanic and tectonic activity in the northernmost part of the troughs. Zone studied: lying between 12S and 14S, 167.20'E and 168.20'E. Countries involved: Vanuatu and Solomon Islands.
