Objective	The central objective of the THETIS-1 project was the application of acoustic tomography in studying open-ocean deep convection that occurs as a quasi-annual event in late winter in the Gulf of Lions, northwestern Mediterranean. During the CONVHIV 1 cruise (Le SUROIT, 26/11-07/12/1991) the moorings T2, T3, T4 and T5 were deployed. T1, T6 and T7 were deployed during the VALDIVIA 118-CR 19920114 cruise (VALDIVIA, 07/12-23/12/1991).
