Objective

Site study in order to set up permanent observatories in the Sea of Marmara in the ESONET framework. Studying the relationships between fluids and seismicity. Studies made during the cruise: 1) Micro-bathymetric survey (by AUV and near-bottom multibeam echosounder) of future observatory sites; 2) Systematic detection of fluid/gas bubble expulsion in the Marmara Sea using EM-302 echosounder; 3) Deployment of the BOB autonomous bubble detection module. The cruise had 2 legs: Leg 1 from 4/11/2009 to 25/11/2009 (22 days at sea). Leg 2 from 28/11/2009 to 14/12/2009 (17 days at sea). This falls under the ESONET/Marmara-DM demonstration mission
