Objectif Le programme PROMETE a pour buts essentiels : 1) de cerner la circulation des masses d'eau méditerranéennes au cours du temps et leur influence sur la formation d'eau profonde Atlantique; 2) d'analyser les fluctuations de l'intensité du champ magnétique terrestre et les phénomènes d'inversion magnétique; 3) d'analyser la variabilité de l'activité volcanique.
