Objective During the MD60/MACAMO (Mozambique channel and margins), the GEMCO unit studying the continental margin and the ocean (U.R.A. 718 of the CNRS and the University of Paris VI) undertook a detailed geological and geophysical study of these large fracture zones. These accidents first occurred as sliding during the opening of the ocean basins of Somalia and Mozambique and were later reactivated (neotectonic). Therefore, their structures are apparent (with seismics) and accessible (for samples).
