| Objective | The main objective of the FARE cruise was to demonstrate the feasibility of re-entering a DSDP borehole using the NADIA logging shuttle deployed by NAUTILE. The second objective was to use these re-entry operations to perform measurements and scientific experiments (borehole heat profiles, fluid sampling, photographic shots of the walls of the borehole and measuring heat fluxes in the sediment in the area around the borehole). The third objective was to shoot cinema images. |
