Objective	To clarify the rifting system in the North Fiji Basin, marine geological, geophysical, geochemical and biological surveys were carried out aboard the R/V KAIYO. This cruise studies the rift systems in the South Pacific back-arc basins, jointly cooperated by Japan, France and the South Pacific Countries (SOPAC).
