Objective The SMIB 2 cruise (French acronym for marine substances of biological interest - supplement to SMIB 1 mission) was performed to "restock" the store of invertebrate species needed for chemical and pharmacological studies (searching for new molecules of therapeutic interest). Invertebrates were collected in the New Caledonia lagoon and its surroundings.
