Objective	Obtaining, in the framework of programmes to assess fisheries resources in the Bay of Biscay, size compositions of catches for the main species fished (hake, sole, angler, Nephrop prawns, etc.). Since the sampling of landing does not provide information about the proportion of catches not put on sale, information about discards have been obtained (for several years) either by joining crews of fishing vessels on board or during the quarterly cruises performed aboard research vessels.
