Summary of measurements |
- -35 CTD stations at 1,000 m using rosette to take 12 samples per station to be analysed: salinity, chlorophyll, dissolved oxygen and nutrients.
-35 current profiles from 0 to 600 m. -Surface samples taken (for analyses) every 3 hours and XBT casts (30) every 6 hours on return trip (between Kwajalein and 20°S). -Recovery of current meter moorings (at 2°N: Surtropac 85-02 mooring and at the Equator: the University of Washington's mooring). -Mooring of thermistor chains at 2°N and 2°S. -35 vertical net hauls from 0 to 500 m for biomass estimation and mesozooplankton determination. -35 net hauls from 0 to 200 m to study macrozooplankton. -Routine measurements (every 3 hours).
