Objective In situ study of the origin and evolution of a stable margin as two continents (Newfoundland and Galicia) move apart and a new ocean develops between them (North Atlantic). Specific objectives: Complement information about the initial history of the margin in the Upper Jurassic (-150 million years); Study the crystalline basement in the deepest part of the margin, i.e. where it passes the Atlantic Ocean crust.
