Objective	Monitoring the state of hake, sole, anglerfish and Norway lobster stocks in the Bay of Biscay. Definition, for these species, of the size structure of catches by small-scale offshore trawlers (estimate of discards: "oversized" individuals, i.e. below commercial size, not appearing in the landings under auction). These observations have been made quarterly since 1980.

Summary of measurements

-BIOLOGY.
-26 trawls, which represents 50 hours of fishing with a bottom trawl of Vendean type (25m).
-The frequent areas were as follows: south of the Glénans, southwest of Belle Ile and Yeu islands, south Rochebonne, south west of Les Sables à la Coubre and west Hourtin.
-OBSERVATIONS AT EACH TRAWL: Fauna inventory, weighing and counting of species, measurement of the following species: hake, sole, monkfish, whiting and Norway lobster; determination of sex and sexual stage; sampling of otoliths on hake and sole, illiciums on monkfish.
-HYDROLOGY: 52 temperature readings.
