Objective Study of the dynamic response of the part of the Indian Ocean subject to the atmospheric monsoon phenomenon. French participation is focused on the study of the behaviour of the equatorial oceanic surface jet and its coupling with the Somali gyre. This cruise follows the MD 18-SINODE (1979), MD 22-SINODE 2 (1980), and SINODE 3 to SINODE 16 (MD/XBT 80-1 to MD/XBT 84-2) cruises.
