Objective | The KAIKO cruise is the first part of a Franco-Japanese cooperation program; the second part is a diving cruise with the submersible Nautile (-6,000m). The objective of KAIKO is the study of the subduction zone around Japan. This first leg is devoted to the Nankai trench in the north of the Sikoku basin (30N to 35N -130E to 140E). |
