Objective | Creating a complete topo-sedimentary image of the mouth of the Greater Rhone River at the Prodelta. The morphobathymetric study of the shallow seabeds located between Port Saint Louis du Rhône and the east and west Roustan buoys will complement the data acquired in the Rhosos cruise (S. Berné, Univ. Perpignan; G. Jouet; B. Dennielou, Ifremer). The image obtained in this way of the morphobathymetry of the area from the mouth to the prodelta, combined with previous studies (Thesis by G. Maillet, 2005) and those underway (Thesis by C. Vassas) will summarise the processes of sedimentary transport from the river to the sea and a sedimentary budget begun in 2003. Comparison of the volumes accumulated in fluviatile inputs, also estimated by measurements in the channel, should enable the solid load inputs to the system to be assessed. |
