Objectif

Le projet BOUM s'articule autour de 3 objectifs principaux et permet la collaboration de physiciens, biologistes et biogéochimistes ayant des spécialités allant de l'optique marine à la modélisation. Le but du projet est d'obtenir une meilleure représentation des interactions entre les organismes planctoniques et les cycles des éléments biogènes (C,N,P,Si,Fe) pour des échelles allant de l'étude de processus à l'étude de la Méditerranée.

  • Objectif 1 : Donner une description longitudinale de la biogéochimie et de la diversité biologique en Mer Méditerranée en période de stratification maximale ;
  • Objectif 2 : Etudier dans 3 environnements oligotrophes contrastés la production et le devenir de la matière organique en insistant particulièrement sur l'étude des processus qui conduisent aux divergences des rapports stoechiométriques des éléments biogènes dans la matière organique, dans l'eau environnante ou dans le matériel exporté ;
  • Objectif 3 : Obtenir une représentation satisfaisante des principaux flux biogéochimiques (C,N,P,Si) et de la dynamique du réseau trophique planctonique, in situ et pour des expériences en microcosmes. Cette campagne s'inscrit dans le cadre du programme national LEFE action CYBER et du programme européen SESAME.
