Objective Second planktonic production cruise in the Indian part of the Antarctic Ocean, ANTIPROD II's main goal was to determine, from in situ observations and especially onboard experiments, the causes of the low production of these waters despite their enormous mineral potential: search for limiting trace elements, study of the degradation of organic matter at depth, highlighting anomalies in the distribution of nutrients, mainly silicates.
