Objectif	Etude des relations entre la faune benthique des grands fonds et les concentrations métallifères. Cette étude se divise en deux parties : géologie (étude des environnements sédimentaires, évolution des environnements océaniques dans le passé, échantillonnage divers) et biologie (inventaire de la faune benthique des grands fonds, peuplement et environnement sédimentaire des grands fonds, relations entre les propriétés physiques, la composition minéralogique des sédiments et la faune associée, physiologie et métabolisme de la macrofaune, pollution par les métaux lourds).
