| Objective | Scientific assistance cruise for the large French fishery in the Newfoundland and Labrador Region. Dynamic monitoring allows the constant updating of knowledge on the state of cod stocks and the elements necessary for their management. The main objectives are as follows: Prospect and trawl in order to locate cod concentrations and obtain indices of abundance; Study the hydrological, trophic and migratory factors involved in the concentration phenomena; Analyze the composition of catches in order to understand the demographic structure of cod stocks, which is essential for a dynamic study; Provide immediate data to the metropolitan heavy fishing fleet based on biological and technical observations. |
