Objective	The main objectives are as follows: to gain a better understanding of the movements of the atmosphere, evaluate how far into the future it is possible to forecast the evolution of weather systems, develop more efficient methods of using weather observation data, design an optimal composite weather observing system for large-scale forecasting of general circulation characteristics.

Summary of measurements

-Observations every hour on the surface.
-92 upper air measurements (radiosondes: temperature, pressure, humidity and wind measurements).
-At 0000TV a hydrological station at 1,500 m with 24 level spill bottles.
-Every 3 hours alternately, a Sippican and a hydrological station at 500 m.
-Dissolved oxygen sampling and dosing at the stations at 00TV and 12TV.
-Permanent operation of the thermosalinograph.
-Operation of the depth sounder on the two routes Dakar-fixed point and return.
