Objective The ALBATLANTE cruise took place in 2 parts, from 6 November to 16 December 1974. The area covered included the S-W part of the Bay of Biscay, the Iberian and Moroccan margins and the adjacent oceanic domain. This mission complements the NORATLANTE, NESTLANTE I and GIBRACO missions. Both parts concern the study of the origin of the Tore-Madeira Ridge. The second part provides additional data on the structuring of the compressive zone, the boundary between Europe and Africa in the oceanic and continental margin domains.
