Objective The ALBATLANTE cruise took place in 2 parts, from 6 November to 15 December 1974. The area covered included the S-W part of the Bay of Biscay, the Iberian and Moroccan margins and the adjacent oceanic domain. This mission complements the NORATLANTE, NESTLANTE I and GIBRACO missions. The 2 parts concern the study of the origin of the Tore-Madeira Ridge. The first part also includes the study of the western termination of the North Iberian Trench, the geological nature and structure of the microcontinent of Galicia.
